Near the Blue Lagoon there are wonderful blue pools. Waiting for the others, the Dans walked round them. Funnily enough these pools are cold. Near there, there are also hills (the stones of these mountains are volcanic stones). We walked there for 1h30.
There were no flights leaving from Belgium. So 2 families left from UK. The cheapest ticket was when leaving from Sweden but you need a good reason for driving up to there. We bought a camping card which enabled us to camp freely in several camping sites. For our 2 weeks holliday it was just worth it.(This is the adress of the site: http://www.campingcard.is/)
.
Practical information Grindavik
Grindavik is a small village close to the aeroport and to the Blue Lagoon. These two beeing the only good reason for stopping in Grindavik. The camping site (part of the caping card package) is very rudimentary : toilets, sinks, a small open hut to eat . We found a supermarket, and an N1 gas station. We didn't visit the fishing museum, the clinic (luckely) nor the outdoor swimming pool .
